Packaging begins with the sales channel
A direct-to-consumer order may need individual bags, branded inserts and scannable labels. A distributor may prefer simple protective packing and clear carton marks. Retail programs can require hangtags, barcode placement, carton assortments and compliance wording. Share the destination and sales channel before packaging is quoted.
Confirm every branded component
List the woven label, printed care label, size label, hangtag, sticker, barcode and any branded bag or box. Provide final artwork, dimensions, material and placement. Confirm whether labels should show the importer, country of origin, fiber content or care instructions required for the target market.
Protect the product shape
Structured caps may need crown support or careful nesting to avoid crushing. Embellishments such as metal badges, large patches or shaped brims may need extra protection. Packable bucket hats and knit beanies can usually use more compact methods, but decoration should not crease or transfer.
Define carton requirements
- Units per inner pack and master carton
- Color and size assortment
- Carton dimensions or weight limits
- Shipping marks and purchase-order references
- Barcode or warehouse label position
- Whether spare packaging components are required
Approving packaging at the sample stage prevents delays after production is complete and makes freight quotations more accurate.
